Post by: eloopnai on September 03, 2008, 11:45 PM
if you have been doing the old skool south series and went the mk bash you might have seen my step son harry
its because of him i got back into bmx and lovin it again so hes been coming with me to a few races and havin a go too and loves it
(http://www.radbmx.co.uk/archive/albums/cc161/eloopnai/_MG_3533.jpg)
hopefully he will be coming herne bay with me for his final race of the season so if you see him can you give him a cheer hes not the fastest out there hes a bit like me following everyone else   :LolLolLolLol: but theres a reason for this
when he was born he had problems with his eyes he couldnt open them properly so he had 8 operations on the muscles around the eyes and has kinda bionic eyes now with springs to help them open anyway 4 years ago he started playin football for a team and he did look good the team he played for pretty much always won and has loads of tropheys and a player of the season trophey to prove it but over the last two seasons his game has deteriated the reason being pains in his legs and being unable to run about so he eventually could only manage being a sub and coming on for 15 mins a game
football is everything to him hes a season ticket holder at west ham ( poor sod ) and it hit him hard he had to give it up this year hes been to the hospital and seen specialists and its a simular problem in his leg muscles so he has to do exercises and regulary have physio and his football days are now over at the age of 13

so with me racing i asked the docs if he could do it they said it would be ok and less stressfull to him than footy and most importantly its exercise he needs to do or the muscles will get worse theres been a couple of times hes had pains mk bash was one but he still rode and had the best races hes raced in
he knows he will never make the olympics but he enjoys it and wants to do it properly next year and ride for braintree

i know he comes on here being nosey sometimes so h if your reading this well done mate  :daumenhoch:
and keep at it your a winner just for being out there  :4_17_5:

I had to stop playing football (age related), and now i ride ramps/park instead.  :crazy2:
I get just as much (if not more) enjoyment from BMX as what i did on a saturday afternoon. In fact it makes me wonder why i ever stopped in the first place  :idiot2:

You keep up the good work young fella, most importantly enjoy yourself.
You will find the BMX people far better than the football lot anyway, way to many ego's in football these days (even at a young age)  ::)

Ride on dude

Sean.  :daumenhoch:
