Title: polishing aluminium
Post by: jim m on September 04, 2008, 10:55 AM
I've stripped an aluminium frame and am hoping to get it anodised. it needs polishing first, and i wonder what people have used for this. Sorry if this has been done to death, but i couldn't find any threads. I spotted a reference to Belgom Alu polish a while ago, its there anything else that people recommend? Do i have to get a buffing wheel ?!

cheers, Jim

Autosol, Peek, Meguairs Metal Polish all good.  A polishing wheel would be OK as would a Black and Decker Mouse but if you use someone like Custom Colour they will polish the frame for you before anodising  :daumenhoch:.

i used autosol and the cheapest polishing wheel i could find to do the hawk, it took no time at all to get it like this, i could have got it completely mirror finish by finishing it by hand with a soft cloth but its a rider and i couldnt be arsed  ::)
