I have a Mongoose crank and have purchased a 28 tpi BB - however it still doesn't fit ?
I have tried a normal 24 tpi and that doesn't fit either !
The nut goes on the drive arm no probs - however on the non drive arm (left leg) the nut tightens after half a turn ???
Help
-
That's odd Nick ... silly question but I take it all the threads are in good condition ???
-
Yep - the crank is like new and the BB is straight out the packet
-
Do you wanna sell the 28tpi BB ?
-
If I can't find a solution then maybe - but I want to get the thing fitted :-\
-
put some pics up so we can see wots going on :daumenhoch:
mongoose used there own size bb and crank thread on early bikes then changed to the standard size later on
i had a crank off a cali so i was told once that wouldnt fit my supergoose 3 the middle section was too long so the bottom bracket was wider on the cali then the super
which means just cos you got goose parts it dont mean its gonna fit your bike :D
-
ummmmm
Pics wont help as it's just the fact that the nut won't thread on ! I got the 28tpi from Alans - so do we think a mongoose bb will be any different ???
If I put a sugino in will that fit ?
-
what is the crank you have got a mongoose stamped one? whats the writting like ?
does it say cro mo on it ? as they were the later ones

help

Those threads look pretty flat to me, might be worth getting them re-tapped or cleaned as that could be the problem :daumenhoch:.

Coolio, let your dad know if he needs to, get them sent to me and I'll forward them on if the seller won't ship to the UK :daumenhoch:

dad says thanks

Ollie, just keep your Dad away from the build mate, I think that is what the main problem is...... :LolLolLolLol:
-
Is that technical input Sean ???
-
its a older crank so the mongoose bb should fit it
and gotta agree the thread looks damaged to me
