Is it ok to buy MX race wear and is it any different to specific BMX clothing?
-
Its exactly the same except some "freeride" pants are a bit wide at the bottom and can catch in your chain
:) DINGO :)
-

no russ, they're shit stoppers :daumenhoch:

Some MX specific race wear has elasticated bottoms too, however the high end stuff also generally has leather on the inside of the knees to act as a heat shield against the exhaust and can go a bit sitff (oo'er) after a few washes
-
as do chaps
-
Some are a tad heavier too, especially the pants, last thing ya want is to be pulling that first straight like ya tied down :D
check the weight too !!!!

Troy Lee Moto shorts and 661 knee pads are what I like. Looks ugly (like my riding style) but feels really comfy to ride in.

The SE tean have used Thor MX gear this season and again for 09 but we use the Phase range not because its the cheapest
but because its the lightest of the Thor range, i used the core range for 07 and it was a load of crap heavy and tore easy

I've never really got on with race pants (plus they have no pockets to keep my car key and wallet in). I bought a set of Troy Lee GP pants, wore them twice, then gave em to Billy.
I liked the old style Kona Primo freeride pants (from about 5 years ago), but the new ones aren't as good.
Nike trackie bottoms are my race gear of choice at the moment, but I feel well chavvy racing in them!

I got the 08 TLD GP pants this year, leather on the inside leg still soft as a baby's bot... not too heavy excellent hip padding and enough room in the legs to fit leg protectors... just no shin protection like all mx Pants. I used one of the US MX shops on Ebay - very good intl sellers!
need to get a new pair of gloves as my matching ones got ripped to shreds at braintree.

A lot of MX guys buy from here and they've got the 2009 ranges in
www.btosports.com
and they mark as a gift :daumenhoch:
