Is Jamie Bestwick on the team, or just internet rumor?
and why did that other ukbikeco thread with the team question just die?
-
dibly will be back tommorrow ie tuesday i think hes at euro bike.
-
Yep, Dibly's away at the mo.
Not sure about Bestwick, but I do know that Mark Webb is on the team, Kane is off and there is a new team manager.
-
Kans didn't last long? Didn't he have a signature bike?
-
Think I rode with Kane @ Corby last week, he's a sound dude :daumenhoch:
-
Yes, Kane was at Corby last week (on his fly frame), he was spot on.
I think the pressure of "pro" riding got to him. He said that he rides cos he enjoys it, and riding FOR a company was starting to take some of that away. He also said that he didnt really NEED a free frame, so why not let someone else get his place and get given a frame.
All bang on really, as far as I could see. Good on him. :daumenhoch:
-
Yep, the split was supposed to have been amicible and Kane does seem to be a good fella.

I guess I'm just being nosey, but as a team manager/bike co owner, also curious.
Why does riding for a company make riding any less enjoyable? I can see to a point why that might be if the team put a lot of pressure on a rider to get results and/or the rider is getting paid but most UK deals are just product deals aren't they?
Also, there's not many bike companies around who let team riders have a lot of input into the bikes and give them signature frames, so presumably Kane was happy with the UKB frame before he left the team, so why not continue riding it even though he's no longer on the team? e.g. I don't think Alex officially rides for S&M anymore, but he still rides/promotes the products.
-
I love the Devils Advocate, me :daumenhoch:
-
i thought they had the best up and coming vert rider already ?
-

I hear what you’re saying Mike, and I was asking Kane the same kind of questions (esp why he isnt still riding a UK bikes frame?).
It might be a little different with racing, cos the point is always to win, but freestyle/skatepark riding can be very different if you are under pressure to perform and to turn heads everywhere you go. Kids always wanna out do other riders and if you are a "pro" it can make you a target. Being able to ride a park anonymously and just have fun, at whatever level you fancy riding that day is where the enjoyment sometimes is. Its not all about the biggest tricks in the park.
Non of that is speaking from experience, I think that I understood what Kane was saying. And whats more, he was still rippin up Corby.
As for S&M, I choose to ride the best bike there is ... I have been lucky enough to have got given a couple of them in the past.
-
i have no idea about this thread? i have never spoke to Jamie i am more than happy with Paul for my vert, ronnie remo is a cool guy who has been helping me out loads! as for change the team thing....... i think some people forget i am just one guy doing this on his own, and when ronnie takes over as TM there will be some more changes but as riders attitudes change when they get a sponser.......alot! and ronnie will be answering the questions about this as well

Dave - I'm only 5ft 9", so it wasn't lookin' good! And besides, it's easier to do decades when you're lighter!

I dunno what a stone is but I'ma fat bastard. I've got stones ( American slang) and I've been stoned but Mick Jagger sucks and the local park is made of stone. Bah, the more I ride, the less I'll drink but Ike took my fun away tonight! :knuppel2: Disregard cuz I'm an :Aresehole: Lulz!

6.356 kilos per stone.
(1 stone is 14 pounds and a pound is 0.454 kilos.)

My Opinion only but..........
Brash who rides for UK bikes is a very good friend of mine and undoubtably one of the best Pro riders in the UK.
360 Invert over Windsor spine.
I took Brash to the Horsham jam this year and he won it.................Fcuk what anyone in Ride said (Mr Dye) about the outcomb the lad did good on his second UK comp and did it in the name of UK bikes, he is as Rad as they come , as far as i know Kane was supposed to be there with the team camera and represent the team in a professional capacity too.......sadly he didnt show cos he went partying the night before......If i take a job, my employer expects me to turn up and do my job as a professional on a daily basis as a representative of that particuler manufacturer or company without taking the p1ss.
I personally feel that Kane had maybe got a bit cock sure of himself and his ability far too soon, and i personally feel that he took advantage of his position.
My opinion based on information and being in certain places at certain times.

Thank you dude

did anybody catch the hammering poor Kane got on other web sites for being on UKbikes... ? bikeguide and the like
riden with Kane to many times and always struck me as someone who loved to ride!
I think the way this game is played for alot of people is that to 'win' or be the talked about rider, you need to be picked up and ride for someone, to me I think this is wrong, riding is about fun!
I think this is what Kane came to, he's just the same as all of us, human, prone to mistakes and f*uckin up..like we all do!
I reacon it was a dream come true to ride for UKbikes for Kane..
-
ray i think your probably right about kane he is young and got alot of attention very fast
hes a dame fine rider at the end of the day or dibly wouldnt have picked him
bar that he hasnt rearly done himself alot of favours with his actions recently gone a bit superstar of dibly and ukbikes
he will probably see the light very soon and fully suporting your sponsor is a must.
-
personally i don't think people should be saying or bad mouthing someone unless they know the full story. and trust me there's a lot to this fookin story!
i'll leave it at that! for the good of peace!
