Title: GT bars
Post by: aditup 2234 on September 11, 2008, 08:32 PM
As some may know, I was selling some bars on eBay, which did sell.
The bars were still assembled until the auction ended.
On removing the grips, to my horor (I genuinely thought they were "good") I found them to have been cut down.
When I bought them, maybe 4 years ago, they had a very authentic "aged" GT round sticker on the down tube, in the correct position, the correct round X bar, no knurling. The dimensions are 26" wide with an 8" rise ( the true rise of a bar is the distance between the "centres" of the clamp area to the end of the bar where the grip resides, not to the X bar)
They DO NOT appear to have any GT markings other than the sticker.
My question is this;
Year, genuine, repo, etc?
I have been totally honest with the buyer and have since withdrawn from the sale, which I totally understand.
I just need to know if they need to go in the scrap bin?
I was the most dissapointed at my findings as I have sold the real mcCoy thinking these were also.
Cheers, Ad  :daumenhoch:
