Ive had this tape of footage for ages and Im finally getting it up on line. Here is the first section
Jerry Galley!!!
This is some of him riding Uxbridge Mini ramp and then some at Wakefield skatepark. Its all from the mid 90s, Jerry is riding an S&M HAF and they were out in 93/94.
The riding is just amazing, so good. He makes every trick look briliant. On edge the whole way.
Also look for Mason Smith who pops up and throws down. Again, such a good rider.

Ive posted this up in here cos its Mid at its best and I didnt want it to get lost in the Video section

Laz, thats nuts. Im behind him on his mini run sat on my bike on the deck (in a grey sweatshirt and a blue had on backwards).
Once again we were in the same place and didnt know eachother! :idiot2:
-
Laz, is that you with the girl (?) who he has to swerve to avoid?
-
Yep!
-
Thats rad! I always wondered what you and the girl were thinking when Jerry almost hit you, and then still busted out a massive air.
-
I think that was the day i witnessed one of the best Vert comps ever! Galley, Tabron, Stuart King, Jamie, Zak the list goes on!....

Mason Smith?
Jerry ruled everywhere he went, always.
When I went to Montpellier to MC @ FISE this year the french speaking MC who was there, first thing he says to me "Do you know Jerry Galley?" of course I reply with "Yeah" & he's like "Best fookin rider ever man, get him down here, I love that guy!" :LolLolLolLol:

Mason Smith?
Yep, Its Mason.... like I said in the first post :daumenhoch:
Ive got some more footage of Mason and Richard Brown to come. Sure, they didnt have Jerrys style, but they both kicked arse.
-
WAS ??????????????????? does more like, someone had some footage of him with mr meacher at skaterham, top night
one of the nicest, gentliest people i have ever met, fecking lovely chap and you really cant help but feed off him when riding
-
ace footage. gerry rips . you could put him on a 2ft ramp and he'd prob shred.
one talented rider who never pushed himself to do all the big comps. he always preferred a chilled out ride but ripped always and the masses loved to watch him ride.
think i got some footage of him from over the years- bristol vert sesions, koc's, bike shows at nec. maybe more......
-
thats awesome footage-
one of the best things you could ever witness on a bike is a gerry galley air.
whos got the KOC footage where he does a huge wallride, then big 360 over the spine on his first run? was it on props or clicked?
i'll never forget seeing that run
-
Love seeing unseen footage like this, JG one of the most talented riders ever.
-
That huge turn down at the end is crackers, thanks for posting :daumenhoch:
-
The last two big airs are awesome. Take a still and the style is iconic. No need for a zillion bar spins and flips. That's just elegant riding. Not a single Red Bull or Mountain Dew banner in site. Those were the days.
Funny how naked parks looked then. :D

Whenever Jerry turned up, you knew it was going to go off big style :daumenhoch: One of the best riders ever & an instiration to many, no doubt...

that was the first comp I ever took my mrs to. Me, my mate and her went. I remember standing watching gerry pulling those airs into the roof and being absolutely blown away. I remember sat in the vert room watching the vert comp..it was fooking mental
I still have the Hoffman bikes t shirt I bought off Duncan from Cyclesport who was running a stall that day.
-
I remember that Wakefield comp well, twas insane! Enjoyed watching that.
-
wooooooooahh...... :daumenhoch:
i remember watching jerry mash up the vert ramps at leigh on sea.
there was a guy called lemsip that used to come down with him.between them they really helped with my riding.
lemsip had a gold taj at the time i remember because i painted my bike gold after seeing it. lol
-
Paul (lemsip) is still riding, see here

Laz you massive hippy. I thought I was the only one who had girly long hair in the 90's.
-
jerry :daumenhoch: yeah no multi barspins or whips dont come anywhere near.
-
I remember being blown away by pics of Jerry in a Ride article on KOC.
3 pics/sequences of:
Quarter pipe with back rail, Jerry backside boneless it, that tyre hurricane trick, and can't remember third, was it a canadian? Unreal, at the time the most action the back rail saw was maybe a fuf or ice.
For safety, he had a contingent of Union bods round the back ready to catch him if he toppled (of course. he didn't!).
A riding legend, and as everyone says, a true nice guy to boot.
-
Jerry Galley, even though everyone rates him, he's still massively underated if you know what I mean!! The guy could shred anything.
