I was looking over the misses' shoulder at the local Herald and what do I see. A bit about Kirki getting a skatepark. How cool is that?
Just down the road. ;D
Apparently, the initiative has been working for 5 years to get the park. Funding was finally approved earlier in the year and building is due to start soon, taking about three months to complete. Unfortunately the artical doesn't say when it will be ready but looks like in the new year.
Brilliant.
But guess how much it will cost. An unbelievable £457,000. What's it being made out of...gold?

N1 ;) might be up for a roll around if anyone wants to meet up there. ::)

sweet as matey, my family is (was) all from Kirky, spent a lot of my childhood up there visiting
where abouts are they putting the park?
-
read this elsewhere, i grew up just a few miles along the road in cumbernauld, think its gonna be down near the canal below the bypass....
-
Hope it's not all steps, ledges and rails......like Kelvingrove... :(

It's going to be in Luggie Park.
I've been trying to find a piccy of what it's going to look like, but all I've found is a small diagram that makes no sense at all even if it was big enough to see.
