hi all the chrome has flaked in places on my frame how do i go about removeing the chrome without going to a chromers any help would be great thanks :daumenhoch: cheers scott :daumenhoch:

i would like to know this as well but think only option is to reverse chroming to avoid any damage :-\

You can get chrome removed by media blasting but you do risk damaging the frame; the best way is to get a chrome plater to reverse the process and chemically remove the plating :daumenhoch:.
If you just want the frame painted you can powdercoat straight over chrome after it has been keyed and prepared (any flaking taken back and smoothed out and any pitting sanded, etc).

not sure if there is a diy method take it to a chromer £25 job done !!!!! fookin clever i am :daumenhoch:

Like they said ^^^^^^^^^^ , a chromer might charge about £25-£30 to strip it properly or you could take the risk of it getting fooked by having it blasted .
Not sure how much blasting costs ? .
It depends if it's a frame that's worth something in monetry terms or sentimental value ? .

The Chromer I use charges me £15-20 to remove the chrome from a frame and forks.
