OK, I will try again.
BSDforever (aka Grant), bumped into Tim.
BSD took a photo of him and Tim, much like Zippys one.
BSD photoshoped the photo and posted it up on his website
Tim saw the photo and wasnt that happy.
I think I have the photo somewhere but I wont be posting it up.

Last time I saw him was in 1983 and he's changed a bit since then..he's a lot hairier :LolLolLolLol: Unlike me, I'm as youthful looking as ever.
Anyone got a pic of him in the early 80s?

SORRY but how is he? new to bmx
Its Tim March, first 16+ national champ, rode for ammaco/mongoose in 1980/81. He went on to create MRD, started making numnber plates then onto full frame/forks.
He was a rad fekker as well, I remember a pic of him riding a pool and getting 8-10 foot airs.
He now works for ride mag if i remember rightly :daumenhoch:

He did work for Ride but he left about a year ago, he likes to play by his own rules
He was rad, a great racer, but I dont think he ever did 10 foot airs. There were some pics of him doing big jumps out of bowls, one was at Slades, but not airs. :-\

Alright, alright, that jump had some air in it ::)
I went there when I was skatebording a lot in 89 and carved around that bowl. It was rough rock and rolling that bowl, let alone blasting out of it on a bike.
-
Didn't you rib him about his tiny c0ck? I would have had to have said something!
-
Thanks for that :) so he's a bit of a legend then
-
you sure about jumps....all the nationals i went to don't recall seeing him jump anything, nor in any mags for the time i was into it?

Met Tim a couple of times over the years at nationals ( he was a big lumb then ) and when he did this bmx day somewhere near Brighton that was televised on TVS wheelie comp and bunny hop contest (fook that was a long time ago) most memorable was at Tran Am in New Milton age 14 picked up my MRD Pro Long Frame forks and bars cant remember why he was there he signed my MRD race shirt though, best race frame i ever had , hung on the garage wall for over 20 years .....then my mum delivered it to the tip one day while having a clearout.....we're still not speakin :'( :knuppel2:
-
Tim's 6' 5", one of my bezzy mates to this day, very passionate about bmx, couldnt give a damn about what anyone thinks of him or his views & also still does a lot for bmx especially at grass roots level.
Did do some big one handed flat tabletops for a very early edition of OBMX in 1981 but wasnt known as a jumper later on (but could jump).
Prob the most succesfull bmx racer of the early days (from the UK) & the most well known.
Would be the ideal person to run a full season long no-clips series!!! 8)
-
i had a great drink with him at the last backyard jam some real funny stories about the good old days. top fella he also has a go at motocross

Nice one Ratty, those are the ones. That bowl is Slades Farm, still there and unchanged.
I wouldnt wanna fly out to flat that high
-
Well cool, remember the one of Tim jumpting the car, but the others must have been before i discovered mags.
Suprised, i know he was fast as bitd, but like i said earlier never seen that radness side of him....excellent.
-
haha those captions are well funny ;D
i'm sure tim can laugh about it now :daumenhoch: not sure he can laugh about the winkle out picture :LolLolLolLol:
i always prefered ruffel (as he was well good at freestyle as well and was the first person i saw 360 a set of doubles), but the big personality rivalry was thing was good :)
