got myself a set of skyways that needed some tlc ,,,,couple of weeks ago i dyed them with terrible results :tickedoff:
they had dark areas on them ,and when i scratched them with my nail the surface came off
so out came a little kitcken knife ,the scrapping started ,then loads of wet and dry ,,5 hours later iv got one side of one wheel done :idiot2:
is it worth all the effort :'( oh and my nails are shot ,,,thats my cross dressing on hold for a while ::)
p.s the lighter area is the renovated bit :buck2:

Wow looks like you have u your work cut out ;)

Good job. i did a set of white tuffs a little while ago and they've come out great. Takes ages but it's better than doing DIY :)

How hot was the dye solution? The first time I re-dyed my yellow ones yellow it didn;t work too well, more salt and more hot water did the trick at the 2nd attempt.
Alternatively, try finding someone that does media blasting, not as harsh as sand or bead blasting and should bring them up a treat without hurting your fingers too much ;). I'd cover the hubs though with some padding or other suitable covering to protect them :).

cheers guys ,the water was bioling 10litres on the 6 burner stove , the misses thought i was losing it ,,
and i has about 750g of salt ,,im sure if the wheels where good it would have worked
its almost like the first 2mm of composite had broken down over the years
thought about media blasting ,but i cant find anyone around hear , and starts getting pricey when you have to send stuff away
cheers
