I was having a browse on bmxmuseum and spotted this supergoose -
http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/mongoose/9845
noticed the tuff's had a mongoose logo on them - i don't remember seeing these back in the day - are they legit or has he done this himself ??
-
im pretty sure they were andy patterson mongoose tuffs legit as
-
i don't remb them either
but seen a fair few about so most likely the real deal :daumenhoch:
-
Any one seen a set go for sale then - do they demand much of a premium ?
Is there anything stamped into the wheel because i'm sure someone could fake that fairly easily ?
-
yeh, there legit alright, as memory serves me right, when you went to buy an early goose (gusset) you had a choice of 3 wheelsets. alloy's, motomag's or tuff II's. when you had tuff 2's they came with the goose logo :daumenhoch:
-
I think we need del to make a rub on decal here :LolLolLolLol:

To quote ED (colortuffs.com) from 2006 over on VBMX
In the sorta-early 80's, Mongoose had both Motomags AND Skyway Tuffs spec'd on their complete bikes that you could buy at your local bike shop. For a couple of years, if you bought a Mongoose with the Tuff Wheel option, you got what was called the "Mongoose Approved Skyway Tuff Wheel", with the Maurice the Mongoose stamp on the wheel.
There were quite a few of these made, but I'm sure that not too many are in the condition that you have. I don't think that the Mongoose stamp increases the value of the wheel, but the fact that you have alloyed hubbed Tuff Wheel has become sort of a rarity in itself.
Enjoy them!
