what makes the hutch bear trap pedal so great that they are worth £280-£350 :-\ :-\ they are nice but not that nice , or are they :yahoo_silent:
-
They will be coming right down in Price as soon as they start making re pops, ive heard it could be as early as February next year
-
i paid £360 for some nos ones... :idiot2:
-
£280 - £350 would be a conservative price now , I think the last nos pair on ebay went for £450...was a pair on for £600, don't think they sold though
-
yeah thats fecking mad :idiot2: i would be happy to pay £150 :daumenhoch: but not £450. why are they worth so much!!

They're not "worth" that much but it's what some people are willing to pay. They're lovely pedals, great design and an object of beauty if that's what floats your boat but if you had one in your hand and tinkered about with it nothing's glaring out at you to justify £450.

not a hutch lover just a liker, but they were original in what they made and usually good quality. I think it's irony that the thing that was the worst quality is the most expensive part. Same with the lawsuit frame and forks, worth a tidy sum but not exactly safe. Bear traps, deep H stems and doughnut seatclamps and the hubs are some of the nicest old school parts you can get.
if you want it, you'll pay for it. I wouldn't, not anymore. maybe 5 years ago.

i remember the days when i bought them nos for £100 in a box as well and that was only 6 years ago ::)
-
I got some originals, original cages, got them in 1982, hated them so didnt use them that much been in a box ever since, might be tempted to sell them now.......
-
They wasn`t a patch on DX pedals :-\
-
Thats why i didnt use these much!! ;)
-
he,he..paid £10 for mine back in early 90's
-
The price for these is utter madness! :idiot2: and if you ever rode with them bitd they did and still will eat your shins!! :uglystupid2:
-
Anybody that pays 450 for a set of pedals is a complete clown IMHO. :-\
I can understand payin 70 for a set of NS Rubens for riding with, but 450 for a set of shiny paper weights to stare at.........nah, gotta be mental.
Each to there own i suppose, ride on!
-
I love hutch pedals, but dont know if i would pay the money there fetching now though, well i cant say that with certainty to be honest, if i have the cash and they were a nice set in decent con i think i probably would. :-\
I dont think they will be comming down in price due to the new one's being made. there will allways be a market for OS original components. just as the OS TA's fetch as much if not more than the new ones.
only my opinion, and i aint been in the game for that long, there will be others on here that have seen the true rise and fall of all this bmx scrap. At the end of the day thats what we have to potentially think it might be, unless there is a younger following comming through. buy because you like, is all i can say. as to its value, well thats in the eye of the beholder.

They Butch Hairtraps were shit back in the day, they were even shitter during the 90's and they're even shitter now than they have ever been!
Utter bollox, I've no idea why Hutch stuff is SO highly rated anyway. DX's and MKS Graphite X's were 10 times as good pedals. I agree with Sean, if you pay £450 for a pair of pedals you need fooking sectioning!
