16t is the normal 44/6

44/6, now that is some gearing.  You would have massive leg muscles with that gearing  :LolLolLolLol:

when i rode as kid round that age always found it better to have slightly easier gearing ie 43 or 42 front 16 tear so stodgy may be right with the 17t he has

When I raced bitd, I always used 44/17 as I liked to spin more.
