thanx mate
it was powdercoated by a local firm
as for the right year i dont know the bike was originaly an m1 but the frame number said it was an 87 (m7h10005)
i was told its the same as a california so thats what i did it as
ive looked at an 83 cali and the frames are identical
cheers spesh

Looks very nice but the levers look odd though; 5 years earlier than the rest of the bike  ;).  Tech 4's would look great on it  ;).

Hey spesh - yeah the m1 and cali share the same frame geometry (pretty much) but the m1 was hi-tensile steel all tubes, whereas the cali was chromo main tubes and steel at the back. In about '86 the m1 and cali's shared new mongoose logos and graphics that looked like this :

I don't think it looks anywhere near as good as your cali/m1 hybrid build here, purely because it lacks the colour contrasts that are on your build but as a bit of a mongoose purist i felt the need to let ya know  :daumenhoch:
But you can safely say you have a unique build there matey - top draw 'n all  :coolsmiley:

Yeah i'm not a huge fan of tech 2's myself but the gold does go with the bike and tech 2's came on the original proclass so they can work on a mid eigties goose :
