Email me the picture and I will post for you. Pm sent.

Im guessing that your photo is of a fabweld crank. they were only peirced at the BB end and the arm was tapered down to the pedal end (that wasnt peirced).
The cranks in the PA thread were all the styles. Non others. They were never only pierced at the BB end (only at the pedal end, or at both).

Didn't Fabweld manufacture Alberts at some stage?

I think so. At first they were made by Greg Esser, the bloke who is welding up the "new" TA frames.

Give me a couple of minutes and I will post the pictures.

Yep, those look like fabwelds. They also look like the same spindle that came with the early PAs .... that broke.
I dont know what fabweld cranks are like, but they coudnt be much worse than PAs :LolLolLolLol:
(having said that, I used my pair for years without any problems at all, with the deep spline spindle. Ive still got them, they are on a mk2 Holmes now)

i was looking at buying this set when i thought they were alberts as im building a holmes at the moment. its a 1" with 990 mounts. would this be a period crank for that bike or should i just wack a set of new profiles on it???
-
yeah they would be period correct cranks. i remember the ads all the time.
