-
Nope mate, it doesn't come off.
Spider is alloy, btw.
-
dam! looks like they have ruined it then... :'(
-
Got pics ?
Or the address of another chromer ? ;)

as far as i know most chromers wont touch a pair of 400's as you cant seperate the spider from the arms and you cant dip the spider as you have obv. just found out...
sorry dude but i think you have done as much as you can.
-
thanks! thought so, and thats what the chromer said, so ive just put them back on the bike... :daumenhoch:
-
you're not alone, the spider is the difficult bit as mentioned but typically it is the part behind the arm that is worst affected like mine below but once on a bike doesn't stand out too much!

I reckon so Chris, can't see how they would have done it otherwise :-\.
-
Can you not Hack the spider off and use spacers to apply a new disc ??? or something along them lines
Its been 2 years since i owned 400s so i cant remember the gubbins of the spider.

If I remember right the spider is pressed onto the crank arm with a folded ring (oohh err), you might be able to get a machinist to remove it but I reckon damage would occur to both crank arm and spider thereby rendering them expensive paper wieghts :(.

they are pressed on...
and frosty's cranks are the best rechromed one's ive seen...
radman got some done for me and they are ok, but as the spider is alloy, it's never be right...
just stand back another foot and forget about it, or buy some original chrome ones..
they are your only 2 real world options :daumenhoch:
