Title: Can anyone recommend a chromer who does one piece cranks?
Post by: ozone on November 05, 2008, 02:43 PM: It's a real struggle getting a nice OPC for sensible money these days so I'm thinking about having one of my survivors rechromed...

Can anyone recommend a chromer who doesn't mind receiving BMX bits in the post. A rough guide to quality/pricing would be handy, too...

I'd like show quality, really...

I bought a nice Sugino survivor OPC (not show quality) for about £15, posted. Add £20 + postage to that and you are looking at almost £40. Vert-Ego would take £60 + postage for one of his Sugino cranks so I suppose it's kinda worth it :-\

Post by: Mattdub on November 06, 2008, 03:13 PM: Any decent chromer will do an OPC , just decide how much polishing you want done . I recently had some pre stamp old Sugino's done , asked the chromer not to over polish because I still wanted the cast marks visible . Some chromers could over polish them smooth & IMO make them look worse than before , bit like over polished welds or when some ally stuff is polished within an inch of it's life .

Where are you based ? , best to find local chromer & go see them and explain what you want done ( look at Yell.com etc for chromers local to you ) .
