Post by: NICKYSPLENDID on January 28, 2006, 07:13 PM

here's the mk2 mag burner frame back from the spray shop.

In my garage taunting me - waiting for me to spend some money!!  ;)
thing is - the burner was from a mate who had it in his shed - therefore it's a complete bike and a nice cheap 1st project.

I got the frame sprayed by a friend who did some touching up on my scooby, and i've been spending time using a large tub of elbow grease cleaning all the other parts. The five spoke raleigh mags came up very nice after a good scrub and some autoglym bumper care. Stem came up nice too.

I think i'm gonna move the mags on to help fund a pair of skyways though.

The diamond back will be reborn though - it's time and money that holds me back (and a wife that thinks i'm mental since the old school bmx bug bit me)

my whole garage is a total mess...it was organised till the kids came along (2 girls aged 1 and 4)..now it's a haven of their junk. The coolest thing about the garage is the floor. when we bought this house i said i was keen to paint the floor with the fancy garage floor paint that you seen on tv on the formula 1 race pitstops etc...my dad said he had some "from work". i emptied the contents of the garage out on to the drive opened the massive paint tin to find that it was flurescent yellow!..so i though"buger it!" and painted it anyway.. it looks awesome (if a little daft). the only advantage is that if i drop a screw or something i can find it quite easily.

i noticed that you too have opted to have a washing machine/dryer/fridge etc under your bench - women eh!

Well I have to say I think you guys are lucky.  I'll be 27 this year (proper rug rat), first old school project arriving next month, new school bike just turned up and I live in a rented house with no garage and the worlds smallest back garden.  Its about a meter wide plus a flower bed and extends along one side of the kitchen round the corner and along to a wall.

No workbench in a snug garage for me.   :(
