Title: Xmas Do Tunes
Post by: Bushwacked on December 01, 2008, 11:12 AM
I've managed to convince a friend of mine I used to DJ with back in the day to come along and spin some tunes at the Xmas do.  :daumenhoch:

Stodgy has given it the all clear so everything at the moment looks like it is going according to plan (Fingers crossed)

So I'm posting up here to see what requests you guys might have? - he's been playing and collecting records since the early 90s and between us we have loads of tunes from the late 80s through to today. Although mainly Dance / house tunes we can get our hands on all manner of stuff.

Let me know what you'd like to hear and we'll see what we can do.

Please, No "Wham" though!!!

Stodgy, no worries, my mate loves a chance to get out and play so I'm sure he'll enjoy it.

If he plays that 'R'n'B' chart bollocks I'll be having Suicidal Tendencies... :LolLolLolLol:

I'd vote for loud & metal to get pumped up for riding >:D
but obviously that's not going to be everybody's cuppa...?

My one request? soundgarden 'Jesus Christ pose' - how's that, it's even festive! >:D

Ooooh, he doesn't play loads of metal, but he can play some really up tempo stuff metally kind of stuff to get you in the mood to ride. He's not been known to play chart stuff unless it has a bit of an edge to it (and I don't mean U2's Edge).

Don't worry - Thankfully RnB definately isn't on his play list!!!!! In fact if he goes anywhere near an RnB tune I'll be the first to kick his ass out the door!!! :police:

Ok the two novice nights i have been to have both always been 80's/house/dance/trance.....etc..
This is why i have my walkman on, is it not possible that we could have some METAL/PUNK/SKA pleaseeeeeeeeee!!!!

I know there are more people out there that will agree with me, such as subversion, Alex where you at?

 :)

The fact it was 80's/house/dance/trance.....etc was the reason I volunteered my mate to do it...

... but I take it on board...

...the only snag is that this is as alien to us as Frank Sinatra is to Dub Reggae!!!

Perhaps if one of you want to put together a CD / playlist of some tunes we can just chuck it through the Mixer on an Ipod or a CD and let the DJs have a break for half an hour or so...

Having said what I said, I might have "She Sells Sanctuary" along with a few others of the Cult - very much underrated as band I think!!!
