I took a set of rims, hubs and spokes all brand new to my LBS and they're going to charge me £50 to build both wheels, sounds like bollox to me >:(
Whats the going rate for wheel building?
-
£50 for the pair don't sound bad.
lace em yourself following Stidds guide in the tech section then get the shop to true them, new buidl wheels cos ta bit more to have trued than already built wheels.
it's actually not as hard as it looks, the real art lies in truing them.
-
I pay £50.00 including DT Swiss spokes but that's cash in the skyrocket , it'd normally be approx £70.00 ( that's including the spokes ) .
-
think i paid 60 for my last set to be built, inc supplying the spokes.
I had a set of wheels trued, cost me £15...., is that expensive ?
-
my local shop costs around £30 per wheel but that includes the spokes and nipples. does depend on where you live though and also the shops reputation can sway costs too!
what we pay here is a very good price considering our local shop is highly reputable in road cycling and bmx
-
Pijin BMX in Southampton is £44 all inclusive of nipples and spokes for a pair.
-
cooksons in whitefield charge me £15 to biuld+ £15 for spokes per wheel, seems to be the average...
-
laced some myself and took them to my LBS and they charged me £12 to true them up.
and nothing when I took them back once they were bedded in

How'd you want 'em done? X3 X4 Radial?
I'll do 'em for £30 for the pair.
