Am I right in saying Ammaco seatpost should be standard 1" clamp ? I've got a clamp, cant find details of where I bought it, and its too small for the seatpost.
thanks for help.

Measure the frame but if 1inch doesnt fit it might be 25.4mm
Nice one!! :LolLolLolLol:

er... isnt 1" and 25.4 the same !

1"=25.4mm :LolLolLolLol:
Your seatpost should be 22.2mm.
Insert it into your seat tube and check the diameter of your seat tube.
It should be 1" or 25.4mm or both!! ;D
If your seatclamp is used or it might even be a bit squashed then remove the bolt(s) and try wedging something in the gap to widen the clamp when you drop it down onto the seat tube. Once its seated then remove the wedge.
check that the top of the seat tube isn't splayed out due to someone trying to remove a post and bent the top edge of the tube with the split in it!
The next size up for seatclamps is 26.2mm (I think) :daumenhoch:

mmm, this is all strange. My post appears to measure just around 1" INSIDE DIAMETER, however the seatpost clamp I have would no way widen up to fit ouround the outside. The clamp had an inside diameter of 1" but the down tube on my Ammaco has a diameter of 1 1/4" pics below.
O, and the seatpost I'd got hold of appears to be 7/8" !!!

mmmm, any ideas anyone ?

your seat tube looks like 1" to me. You need to measure the internal diameter - so the way you have the ruler in the pics is wrong. Put the ruler so it is pressing against the inside of the tube, then measure to the other side. I reckon it'll be 1".
Does that seat post fit snugly in the seat tube?
ps you may wish to invest in some vernier calipers ;)

aye, think I'll pinch the vernier from work. The seapost doesnt fit snugly, there is loads of space. I think what I have is a 7/8" post and a clamp to suite that when I have a 1" seatpost on the frame.... I hope ! is the ID of 1" seatposts clamps 1 1/4"
