Whats the prefered pedal? Its for an old school build thats going to be ridden
I read on another thread that the new dx's have bad bearings, 2 people commented that theyre quite shite. Ive got a pair now that are still brand new only been up and down the street a few times. No prolems yet of course.
-
Have to agre the bearings are not the best. However not sure about V12,s V12's look a little more trad and I wonder if the bearings on the DX will be OK when worn in, regreased and tightened. Maybe.
Either or will be cool.
Cheers and Merry Christmas :Great_Britain:

I've used DMR V12 magnesium for last 2 or 3 years
they've been EXCELLENT , can't fault em
Light
grippy
look right
feel right
pm Purple diggler on here , he stocks em in loadsa colours :daumenhoch:
-
like em both......but i've ridden my V12's on my MTB for the last 4 years and they're still going strong! :daumenhoch:
-
not tried the Dx's as i don't like the styling of them
but have V12's on my MTB and they are brilliant :daumenhoch:
-
Been running new DX's for over a year with no probs.
-
a few lads in holland used new dx's. no problems. i just used old ones.
-
Nowt wrong with either, but I think Wellgo MG1 magnesium pedals are better than both.
If it's an old school rider though, Crupi Pro Rounds would look more retro.
-
I've run V8's V12's & DX's in the last three years
I don't think there's much in them really
I'm running V12's at the moment - I like the grip pattern as they fit my feet well - Size 8/9 shoes
-
Ran V8's and V12's and never had a problem with any of them! never ran new DX's but would love a go
and the DMR's i have never slipped off... never!

Zack.....prey you never do.....like with all pedals....your shins or carfs will know all about it!

Too late Pickle... :( I havent slipped off DMR's but i slipped off some MKS Footjaws i had on my bike... :(
-
ran v12s on an azonic ds1 back in the late 90s, no probs.
running new school DXs now on my ride and to be honest they do the job.
however I'm thinking of changing them soon, probably for some coloured v12s just fashion not function though.
-
i know this is not a 'what pedal' debate...but my Oddy twisted plastic jobbies are working just fine for me.....but then i don't grind yet and don't exactly ride every week (yet)

and if you grind with your pedal on the coping twobobrob will not be happy.

when I do (very little) grinds my pedals seem to be off the coping, but there's some clear marks on my pedals from them hitting some times.
the pins on DXs whilst replaceable don't seem that tough.
-
i tend to keep clear of twobob as he scares me! ;D
-
You all love me!!!!!!!
-
v8's and v12's are lovely pedals - either will do.
You could also look at Wellgo DX (LU313 I think) - cheap and very nice to use.
-
do like dmr s, but find them a bit small same for dx. these are my fave pedals

V12's every time....
-
tioga surefoot are the model of those pedals.
wide, low profile, grippy, last ages 50 quid.
-
V8's/V12's over DX's for a rider .
