Must be gutting getting out of one of the best BMX Co's, I'd be pissed being the S, when the M did so well after :'(
Good find, love the oldschool jumping pics, roots.

I wish I'd had the foresight (and bottle) to start my bike company at a much younger age.
Like S&M, Swingrover has doubled in size over the last 20 years.
-
me too but i didn't have the money until this year to do it.
s&m rules.
-
Wirewheel, what's your company called?
-
GT in the day and S&M at night, you couldn't get two more different companies if you tried could you.
-
Greg owns Crupi so isn't doing too bad and I doubt he and Chris would have lasted putting up with each other. I first met Greg and Chris in 88 in Cali, after Greg sold Chris his share in S&M he went back to work for GT. Greg is a really cool guy and was a very good rider BITD. Some of those pics were from the first KOD in Rich Bartletts back yard, I was lucky enough to be there with Will Smyth, we were like kids in a sweet shop surrounded by superstars.
I don't feel so fat now seeing that picture of Greg, i didn't realise 'pies' had caught on so much in the usa......

alphabmx. a specialist bmx shop in stoke.
i got sick of getting a bum deal at local "general bike" shops in stoke, and seeing bikes built up from mail order parts assembled like shyt. so i hooked up with my many friends in the industry and we sorted things out for our sleeping scene.
i have been riding and building bmx bikes since 83 when i was 13. i did an engineering apprenticeship at michelin. worked there in production for eight years, before leaving to start a skatepark which never got off the ground cuz of £££££££ then i worked in the guitar industry as a technician and lost my job last year due to the business getting sold. i was on the dole for near on a year until putting my heart, life and soul into alphabmx
now i have my custom workshop up and running. i'm doing an s&m i wanna live premier next sunday

one of the moderators asked me not to plug my shop on this forum. if promoting bmx in one of the worst off cities in the country is a bad thing then come up to stoke and you can hang me from the highest tree :LolLolLolLol:

there are a few stoke lads living out in HB :LolLolLolLol:
