Title: My first build getting there slowly!
Post by: AxlFoley on January 05, 2009, 01:45 PM
ok this is my first build, its not meant to be a show bike just a nice ride for my Wife hence the colour, I had to move it about so put some tempory wheels on it, I curently have some 6 spoke skyways sat in bleach ready to go on, that reminds me, where can i get new 10mm Axles from? also I still need a nice headset and crank. all paint work was done by myself using rattle cans in my garage, the shine is lovely, I will get better photos soon, oh and yes i know the seat is pants, i'm new to this and finding the right parts is proving to be a killer, BTW it is a Redline frame

Good job for a rider and nice to see an old school bike being ridden. Does have a couple of setup issues but thats mostly down to preference. Dont take any comments to heart its just a lot of people on here would have gone all out resto on this which is no bad thing but I do think its a shame that theres so many really good bikes hung on walls. I can appreciate a full resto of a classic bike but I  am glad to see a good clean it up and use it build.

Looking good so far, some decals on it would make the world of difference though  :daumenhoch:

Dont forget, he's building it for his missus!!

Your missus will love it!!  :daumenhoch:

But check the setup for your missus unless she's an 8ft tall amazonian warrior!!

So what are ya gonna build for yourself?

well thnaks for your comments, dont get me wrong i do like the restored bikes, but dont quite see the point of them being sat in a garage somewhere!

i didnt realise the frame was so long its only after i sat on it did i notice the seating position, i will get a straight post on there asap

Im building a mongoose decade for myself ;)
