Post by: gossa on January 05, 2009, 09:22 PM
I stayed up until 3am last night watching some rims, really too tired to do it tonight as well but I'd love a punt on these:

I have to cough to setting the snipe on these. I was a little concerned about the dent, but they are less than 1/2 the price of the last set I bought - just wish the dollar is where it was when I got the last pair too :tickedoff:

MRD Pro bars are an exact copy of those Star bars.

Sawzell showed me at the weekend, he gave me one of each bar and they are identical in every way.

Not every way Andy, MRD bars were brazed not tigged but yes geometry was identical.  I don't know what would be the rarer find, MRD or Stars!

Yea Clive, Phil was saying something about that actually, I did mean the the geometry mate, welding and brazing is far too complicated for my liking.  :LolLolLolLol:  Just when the star bars and the MRD Pro bars were next to each other there wasn't a difference.

Oooh black 7b's now I would have liked them for sure.

I just remembered I have some MRD pro's so should get a comparison pic up when the new bars get here.

Mid eighties everyone wanted Stars or something similar and everyone was copying them.  I had them on my GHP, they crushed really easily though so be careful fitting them!

The VDC Woody Itson wasn't too dissimilar which influenced Early Slam bars etc so I reckon Stars are the iconic BMX bar (as well as CW, and GT's......)

I've had these kicking around for years. Had them stripped and brought back to life by Rad's resident frame fettler  :4_17_5:

They're gona be painted in a nice candy red  :smitten:

Star/GHP bars docrush relatively easily  :(

Also got these Expert/Cruiser bars. Came of Darren Woods Factory Raleigh Jag cruiser. Now in fresh chrome with slight crushing!
