The place where i get all my freebies from are working on bikes all day and have all the tools needed for all jobs, anyway the other week i went to pick a few bits up and was telling the chap about a motomag i had with a stuck seat post "bring it down" he says "we'll be able to sort it"
so i got the frame and took it down and explained what i needed....basically the post taking out and the frame leaving exact. He had a little look at it and said "that shouldn't be a problem we'll get that straight out" so i mentioned again to them i don't mind loosing the post but i need the frame so DON'T damage it, i even said to them if you can't remove it leave it i'll sort something myself, you wouldn't beleive how many times i said don't damage the frame on the way out
Anyway went to pick it up today as the fella said he couldn't get it out and this was what i went too......
ANY ADVICE

Or Fuzzynod. He's mates with Robinson Race Cars, they've done some amazing work for him before. They would replace the entire seattube no worries :)

Sounds like a good bloke , NOT ! .

Had a similar problem once. Took 2 hours plenty of blood and a hacksaw blade and had to saw down the length of it to get it out. It came out but was bloody hard work. Anyways now its chewed i would say the Only man for the job is Sawzall (Phil). I have seen some of his work and its stunning. :smitten: :daumenhoch:

So upset for you mate, this is fooking awful they should be shot :'(
-
  :wtf: did they not listen to a word you said ??
-
I was just in total shock when i first saw it and to be honest it was only about 2 hours later when i started taking photo's it sunk in the damage they had done. I'd have done the hacksaw blade job myself if they couldn't get it out but they said they had heat and a vice so i thought happy days.
Anyway think i'm going to have to see what the damage is (cost to repair/replace) then move on from there, at least i never left the forks with them
-
That's one of the sadest things i've ever seen - poor lil' goose :'(
-
I have a feeling Sawzell had to replace the seat tube on one of his Mongoose's so it can be done. There is a topic about it on here somewhere. don't know about the bottom bracket though.
That is sad to see that. :2gunsfiring_v1: :2gunsfiring_v1: Phukin criminal.

by the look of it dale it could be welded and dressed . it would deffo have to have some filler in it so it could crack when you you tighten the clamp up ...... or if it is filled with weld and dressed without filler it just maybe look ok ????????????????????????????/ :uglystupid2:
-
gutted for you mate ,, :'( ,,,time for a drive by bricking me thinks on the shop window :police:
-
WHAT WERE THEY DOING! LOOKS LIKE A HAMMER AND CHISEL JOB!
SUE THEM!
NEEDS TAKING TO A GOOD ENGINEERING SHOP THEY COULD GET THE REST OUT.
-
 WOW !!! :knuppel2: :knuppel2: :knuppel2:
-
looks like theyve tried to fashion a m1nge out of it, dirty tw@ts!
-
Before you rip out the whole seat tube I reckon you could hacksaw the top few inches of the seat tube off down to the weld being careful not to cut the seat post. That should give you enough seat tube to weld something on and give it a good yank - use heat to losen it.
Grind out the old weld and then knock up your own top seat tube and weld it back on.
Fill the BB hole with weld. Grind, re-chrome, polish, enjoy....
-
it can be sorted easy enough, just a twat that they did it in the first place.
-
so what are you going to do dale ??????????????? apart from :'(
-
That is sooo sad :'(
I've had my frame in a couple of places where I ended up picking it up and walking out before they managed to knock all the paint off while trying to fit headset cups :knuppel2:
It's so upsetting when you get home and asses the damage, regardless of how minor it is! (not so minor in your case)
people who think they can do stuff, and can't, should shut up and stay the fcuk away >:(
