Good to hear about the great CC. I lived near Maidenhead back then, cant believe I didnt hear about the Skyway demo - but did see Fiola/Breed on the GT world tour there - remember that was loud too!
-
Not much passion in that.........
Be good to see him back on a bike though :)

Don't worry two bob the interview he is doing for RAD will be much better :D

Ask him if he remembers me!! Ask him if he remembers me!!!
He won't remember me............... :(
-
He won't remember me...............
Who exactly are you?? :D
-
See what I mean? :'(
-
:LolLolLolLol:
I am sure he will...didn't you both get similar skyway tattoos :D
-
We might share DX studmarks on our shins ;D
-
:LolLolLolLol:
-
He must have beene texting the answers while driving and eating an apple or something. :LolLolLolLol:
he didnn't have much to say. still. respect. good rider..
-
It's all lies!
-
:LolLolLolLol:
Go on Dave!!!!
-
That was a bit brief. Wonder how old picture 8 is, the bike he's on looks pretty new school? Nice air 8)
~ Craig
-
Picure 8 is Playstation, or Bay66, whatever you want to call it. We built that in the mid/late 90s (can't quite remember). Right around the same time we put a miniramp in at Cantelowes Park in Camden and Craig and his brother came over to skate and chat. So in answer to your question, about 10 years or newer!
He said he would never ride again as his wrists were too valuable to him, but I guess he doesn't need em anymore now he's not spinning vinyl.....
-
nice to see what he's doing now, but I prefer interviews where the answers are mostly longer than the questions, he must have either been driving and talking on the phone or he'd just gotten in from DJing at some all nighter.
:LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
be great to see him pick up a bike again though wouldn't it?
-
Nice one Bob :daumenhoch:
~ Craig
-
From what I can gather picture 8 was from 2006 but I'm not 100% sure. He has said he may be getting back in the saddle and possibly join us on one of the old fools trips. Nice air actually, good style...as always. And as Rob says, he's not spinning vynil any more, just uses a laptop.
What's all lies Dave? and don't just say 'everything'. Tell us more.....you know you want to ;)
Daz. :daumenhoch:
-
Oh, he could tell you...... but then..........
-
everything >:D
-
Just saw a bunch of Craig's old skool photos on facebook. Good memories.
-
this is strange, craig was an icon of the 80s but only gets 21 replies in this thread and from an old skool site, maybe it's his
one word answers in his interview that peeps aint liking, very wierd replies, no passion in his answers,
we used to ride with craig quite a lot at rom and he always seemed kinda gayish, we where all young and going for what
new trick we could learn and slamming, eating shit and so on but craig always seemed distant, very hard to explain :(

Looks like he was given the interview questions by email and just rushed them. Shame.

I read he was quite shy, sometimes if you haven't got confidence it can come across like you're being distant or whatever.
-
Yeah he was pretty quiet. I remember riding the small half in his back garden many times with Fraser and one day Craig came out to ride. We sessioned for like half an hour and don't think we spoke more than a single word. Craig was one of my heroes.
-
he needs to get his butt back on a bike ,i have heard a few odd stories ,wont share them but the past is the past
and you cant take bmx out of a bmxer.
-
Don`t forget he was only young bitd when he was riding for Haro and Skyway, so perhaps he felt a bit intimidated by the older riders, and tbh I could do an interview with shorter answers than that :2funny:
-
Its a shame that he only owns a set of cranks now, you'd of thought he would have kept one of his framests.
-
There is a interview for RAD in the pipeline...I will try and get the low down on the real craig campbell (conducted on a week day :LolLolLolLol:)...does anyone have the clip of when he was the stunt double for benny hill on the benny hill show bmx scene BITD?

If I hadn't been so shy myself, I might've actually been sitting next to the ramp at Craigs house and not on the kerb across the street !

Hey, I did that when he was riding for Skyway, got to know Fraser a few years later though and got invited in.
-
in '84 to '87 rode at Gillingham a lot and have vivid memories of Fids in his DK shorts and Vans shoes-jumping from board to bike and realising EXACTLY how good he was at both!!! with Craig C aas an inspiration in ABMX or RAD as it later became known.
then, later on t'was april 1st 1994, swoon, stafford and a date in history! Craig Campbell DJing and me sharing the experience for the first time ever! (started me off raving and DJing myself to some success) and, surprisingly he was an excellent DJ!
I bought my first bike in 20 years last weekend a Ripper ltd edition y'know black and gold....... :)
