for a 12t rear cog, what should i run up front? :daumenhoch:
-
33 me old sausage
-
okay......my next question then, as i've only got a 30 or a 28 front sprocket.......can i change the rear cog for any cog or does it have to be the specific type for the hub?
i know i'm :uglystupid2:
-
Depends on the hub...some can be changed, and most suppliers give the option of different drivers.
-
Hmmmmm spoke to cyclesport and they inform me that they're a git to change......looks like i'll have to go a little bigger on the front then :-\
-
you knob.
should have had a ltitle think about that before you bought it.
i run 28/10 but i understand 25/9 is quite common now.
obviously you want something that won't twat the coping too easily...that said BITD they were using 40t + on ramps weren't they?
-
will 30-12 be really spinny then?
-
28/10 gives a ratio of 2.80
30/12 give a ratio of 2.50
on 20"x1.95" rear.
It will make in spinny...but what are you going to use it for? Shops?, Ramps? Parks?
Ramps n Parks it'll be fine...
-
It will be a bit easier on the pedalling than a standard 44-16 feeling gearing. Anyway mate, i`m assuming you`re the guy that called me this morning? If you want to give me a quick call i think i might have a solution for you as i`ve just come across a few spare Prolite Drivers that we could fit a 10t on if that would be better for you?
-
Thanks Dan..........all sorted and well pleased :daumenhoch:

Stodgy, the ratio is the same, no matter what size wheel or tire.
The wheel/tire size will change the distance traveled per crank rev. :daumenhoch:
-
i'm all sorted now anyways........10t driver and 28t sprocket.......top notch! :daumenhoch:
fooking deal of the century! :D

I was going to go on and give distance travelled, hence the wheel size, but then couldn't be arsed. LOL. And it sounded a bit geeky. ;D
-
would tyre pressure make any diference as well?? ;)
-
yes, it's really really really f***ing hard to pedal a bike with flat tyres. :daumenhoch:
-

Haha, I was going to say something about distance travellled too. I even typed it out but I deleted it.
We dont want anyone to think we are BMX Geeks, do we Stodgy :-[ :-X

You know it Al. :LolLolLolLol:

Niks dad Webbwood on here is the KING of gearings, crank length, tyre pressure, tyre sizes etc, could get Niks gearing to whithin 1/8th of a difference to change the bike and performance.
Geeky but it works :daumenhoch:
