Does anyone know if there are any old school bmx with a 25.4mm frame? As I have a gold suntour old school seat clamp that's stamped 25.4mm
-
Yes matey that is the size of os seat clamps. The seatposts are 22 mm and obviousley the seatpost tube has to be wider to accept it. So the clamp size equates to 25.4. :daumenhoch:
These have it stamped on them aswell.

Thanks for that Glynn, well what about a seat clamp that looks identical and made by suntour but says 28.6mm as I have one of these as well, what frame would that fit?

Can't help you out on that one matey sorry. Sounds like your heading in to mk1 burner territory and i don't have one of them to give you confirmation.

sounds like burner size.

28.6 would be for most new school frames that take a standard sized 25.4mm post.

Was there any old school frames that took a 25.4mm post as this clamp is old

U.S size, my rampar is that size but the pinch clamp is built in to the seat post tube so uses no clamp. i think they fit a 13/16 post...

The larger clamp is as JT Racing says, for frames like the Raleigh Burner with a 1 1/8" oversized seat post :daumenhoch:
