Title: Goose on a budjet
Post by: Flake on February 05, 2006, 07:24 AM
Before I start: Sorry to the goose purists and era correct dudes

As I mentioned on a previous post (Trident bars) Her-indoors is making me clean out the garage and bin lots of crap. So taking some advice from several RAD members. I decided the best way to get rid of the old parts was to build a new bike. Being skint after Xmas I blew the whole budjet for this build on the F+F.

Seems that I have lost half my post some where?

This build has been far more enjoyable than the last. Being restricted by money and the parts I had, has meant I have had to put a bit of time and effort in to getting the parts to look semi decent. It's far better than just buying off the shelf and sticking them on.

As always your opinions good or bad are very welcome

Flake

Nice one Flake - that's looking good!

You don't have to always worry about being era-correct - just build for yourself and enjoy.  :daumenhoch:

i like it, I may still be drunk, but are you sure that thems is tech 2's?

and for the record, it is VERY rare for me to use anything NOS on any of my bikes, restoration is so much more fun and cost effective.

Buying off the shelf is cack, boring and too easy.

You've done a great job for a budget beater. I love it. Then again I love any old goose. Yours looks very tidy.  :daumenhoch:

nice build flaz, looks tidy. Budget has nothing to do with quality. I like it. Restoration is accomplishment. Anybody can buy new bits. I like to restore stuff, gives me a sense of having actually done somthing other than assemble.

Nice build mate.

Can you tell me what Goose the frame anf forks are as I have one hanging in my garage.
It could do with a re-chrome or powder coat.
May make it my second build.

Rob This is how the f+f was described when I bought it .

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8750522008&sspagename=ADME:L:RTQ:UK:1

I don't know that much about them but I think mine is a Team mongoose, but I'm sure if you post a pic someone on here will know what it is you have.

Flake.

Your goose looks awsome Flake. Nice job.
If the brake bridge has 3 holes, it's a full cro-moly Team or Supergoose. If it's a team you could see the original color inside the bottom bracket. Unless it's been rechromed.
Like this......
