Title: 14mm > 10mm wheel axle
Post by: Zippy on February 05, 2006, 10:20 PM
Is it possible to change the axle of a 14mm wheel to a 10mm.

I've got an Alex Super G front wheel that I want to fit to a set of Odessey Pro Dirt forks, however the axle is to big. The frame on the bike fits the rear wheel but not the front.

I guess the cheapest option is to take a grinder to the forks. Is this going to be safe (ish)

Can you not just file down your 14mm axles? Should be easy enough :daumenhoch:

yes it is, find a flat file, with serrations on its edge

-bolt the wheel up to the outside of the fork - to stop the spindle spinning
-take off 2mm either side

- ;D
