Im currently swapping all the black stuff from a 24 quad dc to a white 09 quad 24 frame and vice versa! Ive completed everything else but the cranks are different on the 2 models (different spines) so I have to swap the two BB over as well, can someone tell me how to remove the BB,s??
cheers

you say diferent spines? are they both the same diametre though? probably both 19mm so just swap the cranks over including the axles :daumenhoch:

the 09 quad has a 48 spline and the DC has (lot less) probably 32ish, so I need to swap the axles over as well??
-
yes what they are saying is:
The diameter is the same on both, the only diff is the splines. Therefore all you need to do is swap the spindles they should fit in each others bb :daumenhoch:
-
if there both 19mm axles then get a mallet and give those puppys some loving ither one beaing will pop out while hitting it but it should be ok.
-
Right then! take off crank arms and smack the axle/spindle out with my nylon hammer??
Stop
Hammertime!

that's the kiddy! should only take a little knock to get it moving then just pull out :daumenhoch:

HOw are you gonna save the centre spacer from falling?
I guess if it's in there, and it's been there a long time, it will probably just stay where it is long enough to tap the axle though?

they do drop but not enough to lose it......the BB isn't that big. when you refit the cranks you just hold the internal spacer with your finger and push the spindle in from the other side :daumenhoch:

Got my Hamma on it and removed both but the bloody axles were a different diameter (by 1mm) so needed to remove the bearings also!
oddly I think both bikes look better with the kit swapped over? Let me know what you think??
Behold the Quad 09 with 08 DC quad kit!
