got the idea after seeing Alex and Twobob discuss it in a thread and today I got around to doing it.
a bent spoke, about 300mm long, replaces the straddle cable resulting in less "spongyness" and, in my opinion a
tidier look.
(the cable hanger is a PeaceOff canti hanger courtesy of the Stodgmeister)
apologies for poor quality cam phone pics.

really pleased with the feel and the look. :daumenhoch:

Looks a bit heavy. I use a gear cable as they are thinner and lighter... Only joking. Hmm- I might try that. With a ti spoke...

Great bit of modding !!! :4_17_5: gonna be giving that a go on my bike really soon :daumenhoch:

I use a similar thing, but just cut the bent end of.
i screw a nipple on the threaded part and re bend the cut end at the straddle hanger
that way i can adjust the tention evenly via the nipple,, i still use a knarp for extra security.
-
And the really good thing about it is that it won't snap when you least expect it
-
I've never snapped a straddle cable

This is interesting, can you show me a close up of how this is connected to the brake please :)
-
it's just into two of the barrel things that fit in the brake arm.
it might slip, so i'm going to file a notch in the spoke where the grub screw bite.
Alex suggested Dan's idea of using the threaded part with a nipple on, but that's something for me to try in the future.
