No Stupple in this one unfortunately, apparently he was 'down in the west country' with the rest of the Skyway clan.

That was the first comp i ever went to, they had a really nasty wooden track there and the QP and trickramp were off to one side.....Sketchy days!

BMX Biker Monthly - I think it did about 10 issues... the thing I remember most about that comp , was the demo by a dutch Mcyle trials rider - he shut the place down on a honda 200.

I never saw him but I did see Andy Ruffell and Charlie Reynolds doing super fast and smooth 360s on the crappy jumps.

Yeah they were crappy (but big) wooden ramps for the race track, just flat banks really. Plus the 4ft wide mongoose 50p bit of a quarter.

Why do you think I won? I was used to crap ramps lol.  :daumenhoch:

did you kill it with a vanderoll? Olympia was quite a trip for you - I think you were in the North West then? Were you on GT at the time- did they give you much? Being sponsored seemed like a big deal back then - but I think it was really exploitation.

no vanderroll but I have done them for a laugh. I did manage stuff like 540 kickturn , 360 bunny hop , surfer, barhop with a hop back to peddals, wilton and tailwhip and a few more tricks all clean . I never touched down once all day . wish i could have done that in the kellogs. Never got a lot from GT but loads of bikes gear and a bit of money  ;D I was only in it for the sport and the buzz of bmx .
Getting back into it at the moment and can still do all my old moves and I love it as much as ever.
