Yes he did I have an article about him in one of my Magazine's
Don't know what happened to him though :-\
-
i remember a recent pic of him at a us bmx get together,so he is about.
-
I wonder if he's still wheelie-ing around now? :D
-
I remember him wheelie-ing round Eastway's road circuit in the pouring rain ;D
-
Fair play.. he got lots of exposure from one trick.
-
He did the one wheel wheelie round eastway road circuit as well if i recall. He was rad as well, im sure he had a photo shoot in obmx in the early days
-
Wow!!! i remember him too, riding everwhere without a front wheel... didnt have a world record for doing that....
-
didn't he also do a thing when he would ride around doing a wheely and take the front end apart as he went around? :-\
-
Yes I remember him clearly actually. I have a BMX annual somewhere, with him wheeling and then taking apart the bars, forks and what not off the bike as he went along, leaving just the frame, crank and back wheel, was very cool :D. I remember him being in all Haro gear also? Be good to find out what his doing now. Anyone know him on here?
Matt ;)

Check out that seat also, huge! Wonder what he is up to now and if his still got that hair! :D

i bought his hair on ebay NOS

He'll always be remembered for wheelies, but he/his family also owned Strongs Cycles in the Bournemouth area and I think they were the main importer for Nishiki BMX frames/bikes, which I always thought were pretty underrated at the time.
-
Flaz posted this clip in another section, craig strongs in it.

His Dad built my first race bike back in 83, a Diamond Back senior Pro. Their shop was a tiny place on a little side road in Boscombe, the main shop for BMX at the time in that area was Hot Wheels.
I never saw craig in the shop, only his dad but i used to see him a lot at Solent Spitfires Southampton track.
I was also given a Strongs shirt when my dad bought me my DB, wish i still had it. :'( Mind you i wish i still had that bike, nice tyres also.

Mmm, he used a fixed wheel, so with the banana seat i'd say he wheelied like a queen, not a king...........
Ow, check me out being controversial!
-
Unicycling.
Not a wheelie at all.
In my humble opinion, obviously........ :D

Yep Ratty but that Ripper with a fixed wheel and banana seat might as well have been a unicycle.
