Not me alas.

I can't race both classes and seeing as I know Hartlepool better than most tracks I'll be concentrating on Cruiser.

popped up h/pool track today to see how it is coming on, the lads are doing a fookin crackin job  :daumenhoch: it looks fookin awesome, still a fair bit to do but respect for the way its comin together, its gonna have one of the fastest rhythm sections of any track ive been on  :daumenhoch:

I think its the same length...............

but they have added more height to the Berms and added more rythym sections.

So if you fook up the rythym section then you'll lose all of your speed!!!  :(

just came back from there, yes its longer 26m??, 4th straight been re modeled into a rhythm section, 4th berm moved back and re shaped, whoops at beginning of 5th now has a step up to them and whoops at end of 5th been lengthened, 4th 5th n 6th straights been resurfaced up to now, a few vids were taken so have a peek on northeastbmx in a day or 2, they may be on there :daumenhoch:

NEBMX have spent the weekend in the company of a JCB, dumper truck and whacker plates. The jump into the 3rd berm has been made more user friendly with a long landing. The fourth straight although slightly longer flows a lot better  meaning less speed is lost. the straight now has a tabletop, into a medium size double(Daz is jumping them), followed by a roller, a small tapletop into a roller into a set of doubles. The fourth berm that was small and really tight is now about 15 feet high and steep. The fifith straight  is a step up double into the previous step up into a double with a tabletop landing(Daz was also jumping these).
All are covered in a lovely grey limestone. All the jumps are ridable at speed so even if you can't jump the racing should be fun.

the new rhythm section is technical but as ive also said "fast" whether you can pump, manual or just ride over them there is no speed to be lost as they flow really nicely, negotiating the 2nd table to roller is prob the trickiest bit, but its nothing like as frustrating as any of the other rhythm sections in the N/E series, coz this one works  :LolLolLolLol:

as steveN, said ive been jumpin bits and i aint black, maybe a bit woody tho  :D

the N/E bmx dudes have worked like B@$****$ gettin this done and theyve done gooooooood :daumenhoch:

Might see if I can have a drive over to have a look at the track as I might need to find somebody when i'm there to give me some advice.

Well you know more than I do so there's a start  ;D

I live at Stockton-on-Tees so only about 20 mins away from Hartlepool, It's mainly on how to ride each part of the track

If you visit the track on a Sat am the club is usually running training and gate practice. Take a skid lid, gloves and a £3ish (gate fees) and you are away :daumenhoch:

Ask for Steve Noble ( he's about 10ft tall), he'll keep you right :)

Daletsunami!!  Have you got any wheels+tyres that you can use?

I'm gonna bring my Haro Group One with the 20.5"TT  (approx 1990)

It has Skyways on at the moment.  It would save me the hassle of removing wheels from other bikes etc, etc.

I could leave the Skyways on but they flex too much!!  :(

Its just that all of my bikes are made up and ready to roll!!

My loaner is my Haro Group One (Not an RS1,2 or 3) that is 20.5"TT!!

Its plenty long enough for Dale.

Its just that its set up with tuffs which he probably wouldn't get on with!!

If he's got some wheels then it will save me the effort of stripping one of my other bikes to use the wheels off it!!

If he wants to use Tuff's for the proper OS experience then its ready to roll as is!!  :daumenhoch:

Dale, its up to you mate!!   If you have some Wheels and tyres and want to use them instead of the Tuffs then you can do.  Otherwise you can use the Tuffs.  The Tuffs have the GT Logo Tread which isn't the grippiest either.

I can bring the Haro up in two weeks time (weather permitting) and you can keep it until Race day.  That way you can get some practice on it before the Grand Finale!!

Has anyone got a Racing version of the Redline Forklifter plate that they could take up to Hartlepool?

I want to trace one and right down the exact measurement etc, etc.

Creamy and me have been looking for plates for ages and we haven't found any plus they'll be super expensive when we do.

Big Daddy plates said they'd make the plate that fits if they have the exact dimensions.

Hey up Moley, I haven't got the Redline plate you're after, but if you want any of the following, I'll bring them up to Hartlepool for you. You're welcome to take them away and copy at will. There's some nice old stickers on some that might also be worth a scan- Haro Series one, Haro Series 1B, Haro Type 2, Haro Tech 'Digital Display Panel', Zeronine solid, Zeronine with mesh panel, and a very sweet (not too big) MRD that even looks good on a new-school. Let me know. If I can keep Dubber and Bof off the Spam on the way up I'll save one for ya :daumenhoch:

Anybody heading to Hartlepool for practice on 7th March needs to be aware that some track work is taking place to get the track in tip top condition for the regional. However i will be running a coaching session from 10am to 12noon. This will include gates. Cost is £2 for members, £4 for non members. The treasurer is in attendance so non payment is not an option. Some parts of the track will be closed whilst the work takes place.
Club members will be in attendance from 8am to start the work and everyone is welcome to do some extra training complete with spades, wheelbarrows and whacker plates.

Looks like the weather might be grim over the weekend!!  :(

I'm leaving it until the last minute to decide whether I'm popping over for a practice!!

I'm not travelling 108 miles for a track thats still under construction and the to pissed wet through and frozen solid!! >:(

The track is having work done so you'll only have access to the start gate and a few of the straights while they're working on them.

I'll check the forecast on Saturday Morning.  I'll be setting off no later than 9:00am.

If I'm coming or NOT, I'll post here on Saturday morning before I leave. 

As soon everyone's knows whether your going to Hartlepool track or NOT then post here!!

If I turn up and no fooker else is there then I'll be as grumpy as Victor Meldrew!!  >:(

i have just renewed mine and bens race membership and because we aint doing any nationals ,i dont need to have a full race license and she saved me 32 pund and i can still race at the britts if i desire

Nah!!  I was going to but I couldn't be arsed in the end!!

If the track was closer to the car park then I would have done!!

Dale and n2cus popped up!!

Dale rode but n2cus just wanted a peek!!

Another lad was there who's into BMX!  He knows Dan,  His lad races in the 7 yo class.  He's got a few OS bikes and looks like he could be persuaded to race.  He isn't on RAD either so I told him to log on!!  :daumenhoch:

Had a great day, was more than a bit shakey to start with but got a bit more confident in the end.

I thought the front end was way too twitchy but it twas me!!

I think you might be getting a bit confused , you dont need to pay anybody on here via paypal to race , but you may have to join hartlepool club on the day or just a couple of quid extra to cover insurance. Just turn up and ask for moley he will take you under his wing and show you his ropes. 8)

Just turn up and pay your £7 entrance fee!!

You'll need a helmet preferably Full Face.

Gloves are a wise move too!!

So are shin/knee pads and elbow pads!!

Be at the track to enter the race before 11:00am.  Racing starts around 12-12:30

We'll probably get there around 10am to get some practice in and sign in!!

Andy Hill (Haro 82) was using 8 when he first start racing OS but he might have changed it!!  If he hasn't then either use another number or remove your plate and use a plate provided by the organisers.  They always have spare plates to lend out!!   So there's no worry about plates.  Same goes for Dale too!!  :daumenhoch:

Dont worry if you dont have a Plate!!!   The organisers have spare plates that you can use!!  :daumenhoch:

Remember Safety First.  Helmet is a essential.  I'm not sure on the ruling but I'd go for a Full Face Helmet.  Most tracks are now demanding it!!

I'd also use gloves, Knee/Shin pads and Elbow Pads in case of an off!!  But if your really hard or extremely foolhardy then just a helmet will do.  But dont come crying to me when you scuff ya knees up!!  :LolLolLolLol:

If you haven't even seen a track in 20 years, let alone ridden one then just take it easy.  I know as a back marker that all the riders are appreciated even the shite ones!!   We here for the craic and the racing is in good spirits................

I have just received some Robinson Catalogs from the 90's.  One of them from the early 90's showed the kit the Robinson team were wearing.   The were all wearing these Dyno D-Force pants.  So they are Official period Robbo pants from 1991-1993 approx!!

Whats wrong with Creamy's bike?

The Redline 700 you raced at MK08.

It hasn't got the bent chain on it anymore so it wont throw you off!!

It has a redline crank on it!!

Those Forklifter Bars he got off you (Rechromed)!!

It has some cheapo tyres on it and the chain might  be a cheapo.  If  its not then Creamy nicked one of my KMC chains!!

Bring the Unicycle.  I'll donate £100 to Comic Relief if you can get around the track without falling off!!  :daumenhoch:

I wish just gotten back into this scene, and still building up my bikes, if i can get out off doing the car boot sale with my missus tomorrow tho i'm defo coming down to see the races, 1 question is there much selling goes on at these meets, looking for a few parts still????

got 3 builds at mo hutch judge, skyway t/a, just bought a pk ripper and getting  darrell young and a black shadow delivered soon as well, not sure if i can get across to h'pool unless i can escape from sedgefield, what time are the races on?

You have to sign in before 11:00am and then racing usually starts between 12:00 - 12:30am

Just seen Russ up the track getting his snap on..............


Track is riding well, pretty fast.  The wind was a bit of a bummer today down the 2nd, 4th and 6th straight but its not forecast for tommorow.  I will be running the gates tommorow so I don't want any argy bargy gentlemen, clean race and the man with the biggest elbow barages wins!

home early feeling smashed to pieces  :D  after falling off and getting some old school all over gravel rash i went to pull meself together down by visitor center.. where i managed a couple 180's and the confidence came flooding back... cue a wheelie which left me flat on my back ( much to the delight of those in the burger q   :-\.. ;D.. ) my intentions were to come back up the hill and say my goodbyes but i seem unable to move properly  :-[    n2cus was gonna take pics but i fell off before he got any.. unless he got a pic of me falling off  ;) . i know where i went wrong.. indecision on that second jump on start straight.. jump it, roll it AARRGGHHHHH .. see you all at the next one where i  intend to stay in one piece before the racing starts. good to meet you today and put faces to names  8)  i learnt a bit about my own ability, and about over confidence today     :crazy2:

Just got back from my first race day and really enjoyed myself, never came off the bike (unlike Jason....hope you fix up alright mate) so there's a good start i reckon.

fookin awesome days racin, well done all n thanks for the great effort made to attend, hope it was worth the trip dudes, i really couldnt have enjoyed the racin more, another top northern gathering, hope to c-yas at coppull.

T'was Top notch entertainment and it was good to see all the new faces!!

The Tartan Army was out in force and it was good to mix it up with them again!!

Great day's racing - didn't realise we had sunshine any more in the UK?!?

OS looked excellent - hard and close and you could also tell, just from the crowd, when the OS gates were up.  Excellent atmosphere.

All the pics posted look class too.

Well done to NEBMX as well - a lot of hard work went into that race - including the work before hand.  :daumenhoch:

Made the trip today (as a spectator). The 1st BMX meeting ive been to since...........bloody hell........1984ish.
From the "young-uns" to the "not-so-young-uns", great entertainment, and everyone gave it 100%   :daumenhoch:. Had to leave after the moto's but cheers for bringing back some memories. The bikes were class, and even the simple things like looking at the moto boards to see who was in which race were the things i'd forgotten, but it all came back. I have to say that the track design has changed so much over the years compaired to Guisborough and South-Bank etc. Anyway, like I said, a great afternoon :4_17_5:... cheers

Just a mention of thanks to all the Titans that came down to Hartlepool . My god the troops in the VW must have had sore ears on Monday morning with the rubbish I was spouting on the way down and back up .....Well I thought the jokes were funny....

Another thanx to  all who organised the Hartlepool event . As a spectator it was a joy to watch from the young dudes to the old ones . All great racing. I just wish I could race as the track looked a goodin. Maybe in 4 or 5 months I will be back on the saddle..

It was good to put the faces to the name on this site and I must say a great bunch of lads.

Its always good fun when the Scots venture south of the border!!

We might have to put 20lb of ankle weights on Scott to slow him down a bit though!!  :LolLolLolLol:

Preston is on the 10th May

and

Lytham is on the 5th July.

Lytham is the smallest North Region Track but it is next to Blackpool if you want to hit the Pleasure Beach on the Saturday!! :daumenhoch:

They are probably the 2 easiest tracks for you to get to down the West of England!!

Hartlepool is on the 16th August and is the finale to Summer Series!!

Summer Regional's 2009
1. Mid Lancs - 29/3/09
2. Crewe - 19/4/09
3. Preston - 10/5/09
4. Leeds - 14/6/09
5. Bradford - 21/6/09
6. Goldcoast - 5/7/09
7. Manchester - 26/7/09
8. Hartlepool - 16/8/09 (Also Club Championships)

I second what Davey said above. Thanks to all who organised and turned up on Sunday. It was good to catch up with the regulars on here.

Here's a few pics. Hats off to Scott Davidson (First in OS A final) who returned to the UK from holiday in Gambia early Sunday, taking a hours kip on the way to H'pool. He was in two minds to race as he was tired after not sleeping on the plane.
