right guys got set wheels last night cheers weston .
they are specialise hubs with alex alloy rims .i am considering to strip them and get the rims powdered my q is are they okay powdered ie does it come off easy with brake rub and does it effect the brakes .
also if i get new spokes etc where best to go ie cheapest and can i get coloured anywhere cheapish .

Greg, it all depends on what use the wheels will be getting. If it is for a daily rider then I wouldn't bother as they braking is not as good as chrome. For a show bike/not used much then there will be no problem. I have my Pro Class wheels powder coated black and they look amazing.

cheers mate them spokes are great price for set too.i have just handed the wheels over to my next door neighbour and he says he may know someone who can anodize them .that could be handy new school race rims with old school flavour maybe coming soon .just gotta get price off him for doing them .would anodize last longer than powder ??

Don't get me wrong, the powder coat will last, it is just the actual braking power that isn't as good. Anodising wouldn't last any longer in my opinion, never did bitd.
