Congratulations to Tony Knott and Justin Esson for being shortlisted in the Royal Mail’s annual !st Class People Awards. Tony and Justin run the meetings at Hersden, near Canturbury, and decided to dedicate a meeting in September last year to raise funds for Cancer Research as a direct result of the loss of my wife to cancer in June. The meeting raised £680 for Cancer Research and this award nomination came out of the blue for the guys who persuaded a number of their postal worker colleagues to race at the popular 4-man track in Kent. The shortlisted candidates go forward to a regional judging panel and, if successful, could progress to a national selection panel.
I add my personal thanks to Tony and Justin for their effort to raise funds for a charity obviously close to my heart. The dates for this years’ meetings at Hersden are already available and as far as possible I will be riding them with my boys. Humps

Deserved recognition for 2 great guys.
I enjoyed watching the posties race last year (apart from when one of them commandeered my bike :LolLolLolLol:) and it's cool to hear not only that Tony and Justin are getting recognition for organising it, but it also lit the fire under some of the participants to want to give racing a go this year.
Well done guys.
