Title: brake help please

got my supercross today and it has got brake i not seen before apparently its cantilever brakes how do i set them up etc as not got clue pics would be nice .also would v brakes or 9900 brakes fit the brake mounts instead of these 'thanks

greg take one side off if its got a hole for the spring its the canti ones if no hole then normal ad brakes lol

they are cantis mate
used to be popular-ish in the late ninties
i run a canti on the front of my flatland bike for a while

you can run v brakes instead

or get a straddle cable and run the cantis. they should work ok

dont forget you will need a v brake lever

hi mate thanks for the info .does the straddle cable just float ?how do you adjust /set the brake up as there is no tension adjuster on there ?

yup it just floats

there should be an anchor point further up. sometimes there is an adjuster there. or use the lever as the adjuster

you may need an anchor that attaches to the brake bridge

I don't think AD's will fit this frame as the lugs are lower on the rear stay . . . AD's will not give enough rear wheel clearance and scrub the rear tyre
