Title: Se racing bikes
Post by: badbuckle on February 10, 2006, 05:05 AM
I don't know if anybody'll know but I was wondering if the Se racing company ever had its frames, namely the Pk ripper and the quadangle, made outside of the US.

I'm thinking of saving up for a ripper frame and fork or possibly a quadangle but would prefer a US made one. If they did make them outside the US, is there any way to tell the difference?

Cheers.

i think se racing got bought out, in maybe 97 (or later) by an asian company called fuji (but kept the se racing brand name)

as far as telling the difference between US made and "overseas made" goes, i dont know.
different stickers maybe?

i have a non-us made pk ripper and the build quality is perfect.

I can tell you that all SE bikes are made in taiwan and china, no longer in the usa, if you want a usa made then you best buy old School, I have the 2006 SE Ripper Team Spec bike
and with it being longer top tube 21.25 it certainly rides better than 2005, just wait a few weeks and they will be in the shops. colours avail should be baby blue and ball burnish
Frame & Forks or complete bikes

Jai

Ps i do have some brand new US made landing gear forks 1 1/8" for sale

it's cheaper to get frames built in taiwan

less mistakes = less rejects = less money wastage

SE made bikes in the US till 1999 so you don't need to go that old skool. The Asian ones have the serial number on the bottom bracket whereas the American ones have it on the drop-out.

And it was raced for real! Scary as hell, give me my Standard any day for riding.
