it's a bit sad just cashing in on hutch. it will destroy the collectors market and the rarity of using genuine bits. They're just novelty parts and i hope he get's stuck with a ton of parts he can't sell. I would have been happy to see 1 1/8 clamp on stems, long top tube judge's with brake lugs and mid BB for proper use today. Trickstar3 for modern riding. that sort of thing with just an old school flavour would have been cool. retro, not repro.

They are bob on for me, mines a rider, so wouldnt want to destroy a NOS pair, or pay for them, & the repro's are cheaper than a second hand/used set....ideal  :daumenhoch:

Not really interested in the old school Hutch stuff anymore, but I hope this new Hutch brings out some new school products which justify bringing the Hutch name back from the dead.  Otherwise, it's just using the Hutch name for the sake of cashing in.

As above mate, used the site converter, & thats the price it gave....paid via paypal & they accepted payment ???  :)

Thinking mine are at customs, as peeps already have theirs that were ordered after mine, will do some chasing to see what I can find out if they dont turn up today.

Have heard they look awsome in the flesh  :coolsmiley:

good luck to all those that ordered in sterling!

He needs to change his website of he's getting stung big time.

might be worth buying ten sets and selling em back to the US ;D
Title: Re: The Hutch website is active....
Post by: brass monkey! on March 23, 2009, 02:33 PM
Thats completely wrong though.
The exchange rate today is 1£ = $1.45
Saturday when I ordered it was :  1 GBP = 1.36472 USD

But the website thinks $189.99 = £95, which would make them $129 NOT $189

So who ever ordered in Sterling got a $60 discount!

Have you lot not forgotten how much those bear traps hurt when you sliped a pedel/  ;D

I had some copies when I was a kid and they killed my shins many a time.

I would have killed for a hutch when I was a kid, but 20 years or so out of the game,, mmm I don't know if they could actually make a modern frame to compeate with BMX of today.  Be good if they could and I would be tempted if they made a 21.5 tt and 14" rear with 990 luggs mid bb like modern bikes.  Don't think Hutch would crack the youth market - teens tend to hate OS stuff.
