Title: Freestyle comp mid 80's Michael Sobbel Centre London
Post by: paul_harrow_mid80s on March 16, 2009, 08:59 PM: Anyone remember a freestyle comp help in the mid 80's in the Michael Sobbel centre, Finsbury, park London just off the hollaway road? I think Neil Ruffell won. I entered and came somewhere pathetically down the rankings.

hmmm not sure its so long ago.

There was one 1/4 pipe and a ramp the other end.

Think Cherry pickers had just come out but can't be sure if that was later.

I remember it was rammed

Craig was good back then eh just read his interview and watched the KOS youtube brings back memories.

4) Glyn Lewis - DP
5) Robert Bell - Skyliners ??
6) Neil Ruffell - Skyway
Joint 7th: Andy Irwin - GT, John McInnes - MRD
9 ) Mason Smith - Rickman

That was '87.
At least the third, maybe 4th Holeshot.

Post by: lodge on April 10, 2009, 08:20 PM: I think pepi and craig got joint first in pro class at the second holeshot comp (1985). The comp where craig hopped into the halfpipe was the last holeshot comp as the halfpipe was there for the skaters and not the bmx's.
