Title: what pads are people using?
Post by: 2020mad on February 11, 2006, 05:17 PM: Just got some 661 4x4 shin and knee pads ready for epic meet. they seem a bit clumpy, but i am likely to be falling off my bike a few times. thinking of getting the 2x4 elbow and forearm pads or maybe the dj pads.
what does anybody else use?

will be changing to tsg force knee pro pads, as they look a bit beefier than the djs i got.
i would recommend a knee pad with a rector type cap, and the more padding the better.

They are huge though, and not everyone likes that big bulky feel, but I need 'em as I do spend a fair amount of time hitting the eject button ;D

They quite often pop up on ebay I'm told, and always seem to go cheap when they do ;)

Fox, Rector, TSG (the dearer ones) Smith and the larger 661 stuff is all pretty decent :)

got elbow pads but rarley wear em
prob explain y me elbows hurt when i crash lol :uglystupid2:

Post by: pickle on February 14, 2006, 01:05 PM: Not sure if they'd work for BMX but when on my mountain bike i use Brand X knee and shin pads from Chainreaction cycles.....£17 postage free! you can't beat em for the money!
