I always thought it was the same as Ford Signal Yellow? what ever that is?
-
Thanks Daz - that was as usfall as a chocolate tea pot ! :LolLolLolLol:
Does it look the same colour ???
It's not a tough question :daumenhoch:
-
:-[ yes ;)
-
I don't think it looks the same it's not dark enough like my old Yellow one.
bodamus :-\
-
I was going to say, its close but the curtis in the pic below looks slightly darker, the top one looks more lemony. Only slightly but just about noticable. The curtis looks more like the old BT yellow.
-
Ummm
I'm in two minds if I'm honest - First time I looked it was spot on!
Th more I look the Curtis is a tad more 'musturdy'
-
miles out!!!................
kidding ya!
its difficult to tell with pictures, needs to be seen in the flesh, side by side, in daylight...
i would pass it though if it was one of my cokks.... ;)
-
i've gone through the ral yellows and nothing is nearer than ral 1023,
a pic of a colour can look so differant than it really is, it's hard but i still
think the two are the same :-\ ;D or roughly the same :)
-
another test for everyone on the colour, look at the handle bars in my pic then look below
under the rear brake of nicks pic, the light is showing them both looking the same shade/colour,
:)
-
Not far out to be fair, considering the lighting in both pics is different, i'd say prettymuch spot on :daumenhoch:

leave it, i bet if you got 2 stock bikes from the factory way back, that were built 6 months or a year apart and put them together the colours would be different ....
-
the Curtis looks a little richer in colour than the gt imho

I doubt it in this case - it was a hand built prototype !
-
sometimes when you are trying to see a differance, you think you can, especially with differant angles,if its 98-99% right, then no one can get it any nearer without tinting the shade, sometimes its down to who mixed the paint and what paint manufacturer....
-
FFS!!!!! Nick, Curtis is only down the road from you go in and see if they know or i'll ask him when i see him in a couple of weeks
you never know they might have records also there new colour for this year is a yellow which is very similar
-
Th more I look the Curtis is a tad more 'musturdy'
The BMX Freestyle magazine test refers to it as mustard, although no code shown in the spec.
The test said that the paint was expoxy (don't know what that means :crazy2:) rather than powder and seemed to chip easily, if you're into originality.
-
Your correct Paul !
The trouble is - how far do you go in 'originality' - as you know Im Curtis fanatic and want to get this right, even if the colour is a shade out, but I guess close is close enough eh !

Cannot wait to see the build ;)
Can't the man himself help Nick?
-
had another look through the colour charts today and maybe golden yellow is an option :)
-
maybe try a old bs chart
http://www.icomsps.co.uk/colour_chart.htm
or a even old 4800 chart
