Title: Powder Coat Removal..... !!!!!!!!!
Post by: Peter J on April 01, 2009, 11:10 AM
I've got a Profile H.I.P stem and I'm trying to remove the powder coat, I've tried the gasket remover.....didn’t even touch it.... :(

Can I heat it up to "melt/burn off" the powder?

I've got a media blasting booth but I'd prefer a chemical removal (saves time on polishing) option first....

Anyone any recommendations?

Are you sure its powder? That gasket strip seems to only work on powder.

Have you tried paint stripper?

I had a frame that paint stripper & gasket remover would not touch  :(

So I gave it to SBD & he has got some industrail paint stripper & that done the job  8)

He also powdered it for me  :smitten:
