I saved for 10 months with a £2 a week paper round prior to. xmas 1981 for this, originaly went to the shop (suntal cycles) to buy a puch murray at £79 but he had sold it the day before, i was gutted, the only bikes left in the shop was this at £150 (nearly twice the puch murrays price) and a pro star, which looked shite... i went home empty handed with no bike...    :'(   can you imagine how a 12year old kid felt......  two days later on xmas day i didnt even want to get out of bed, knowing full well i had no bike... eventually i dragged myself downstairs to find my dad had gone back to the shop and got me this bike... to this day its the single most memorable thing my dad has ever done, and remember it like it was yesterday..... well done dad....  :smitten: :smitten:

Lovin that DP Firebird  :smitten: Only thing I would change is the decal on the seatpost for a classic santa ana one.

Call me an old fashioned romantic fool but I can't quite get my head round the new school / old school TA (no offence, just different strokes for different folks). For me it's between the HLT for the blinging attention to detail (I do not question his commitment to sparkle motion) :coolsmiley: and the Scorpion for the pure nostalgic boy-joy it gives me  :D :smitten:

Great month once again though so great work and little bit of man love to all :daumenhoch:
I think I've been loved-up by a Scorpion this morning :-*

Damn it. With Hutch's and HLT's in the mix this month, what chance do we mere mortals stand?

My second Pro-class build, and I've entered it now as I'm praying that Neil (n2cus) will not have his (my old one!) re-done in time for this month end. Non of this bike is NOS, it's all restored from the dead, so here goes......

1983 First gen Mongoose Pro-class frame and forks - repaired and pe-painted by FHMreader - cheers again Mark - you're getting better each one you do :daumenhoch:
Pro-class wheels re-anno'd and rebuilt with new Suzue's
Pro-class bars (re-chromed) and blue Sugino stem (with scars)
DC MX thou's (totally minty) and Tech4's (let's face it, if I wanted a pair of mint blue Tech 3's, I'd have to take out a new mortgage)
GT seatpost, well shagged blue Kashi Aero and a blue FS (not DC, haven't got money to burn) minged clamp
Single-pinch Flights with new sealed BB (just luuuuuuurve these - waiting for a blue decal set when I see Del next)
Mongoose grips (repops - cheers Bill Curtain)
Genuine NOS Mongoose blue Padset..... oh bugger.... sorry, they're NOS. I could put them on another bike if it makes then non-NOS :2funny:
Tange headset (with scars)
MKS202 pedals (ridden on my other Pro-class, complete with scars and dirt)
Cheap but new tyres (got some Cheing Shin's, but that means more work to put them on and I haven't had time)

Enjoy, please vote for me, and the cheque's in the post for all those of you who do :LolLolLolLol:

I've been so darn busy with my (nearly) 8 month-pld daughter taking up my spare time Arnaud that I forgot I already have a set to put on it :idiot2:

I'm gonna give it a final scrub before I do though, as it looks like it was in Iraq with all the scuffs :-\
