Title: Has anybody heard of
Post by: chewy on April 08, 2009, 09:36 PM: Have just been away on a course , and i got talking to a guy on the course and the subject of bmx came up (as it does )
and he was telling me that bitd he was the scottish freestyle champion , in i think he said "86" , his name is Allan Lammont
he lives not to far away from me , just over the border in scotland , and was just wondering if anyone had heard of him
or was he just taking the p@ss out of some old bloke twittering on about bmx's ?

he's from Annan near Dumfries. he came to our club Nithsdale BMX in Dumfries, He hasd a white Rickman , red AP sliders, broke his collar bone doing an air on our shitty ramps, had his own quartpipe, won a competition at eaglefield with Andy preston judging,.. what more do you want to hear?

Say Hi from Ross. maybe he might remember me from Nithsdale BMX. Steve Macky might remember him too.

Bloody good rider he was, and a really nice guy.

Post by: lodge on April 10, 2009, 10:27 AM: Yeah I remember him too, he rode a few contests/demo's in carlisle and as Ross said rode a white rickman with white mags he always wore aero pants (as everyone in scotland did hehe) and a rickman shirt, i remember him well as he was the first person i seen in the flesh do a cherrypicker, he unvailed it at hammonds pond and everyone was blown away, it was funny as the rumours in carlisle were that some dude from annan could do cherrypickers but no one believed it, this was around the time that uk riders had only seen pics of martin aparijo doing them, yes I agree he was a very good rider.

i didn't think he was talking sh@te as he was naming quite a few riders from bitd
he mentioned a guy called Gary Foley who i can vaguely remember
wonder what he's up to now ?
theirs a good chance i'l bump into Allan again so i'l definitely tell him you were asking after him
he's still got his old bmx , so you just never no ?

Yeah thats Frank he's in most the old pics I have, around early 85 pepi and I spent most weekends in dumfries we used to stay at Gary Foleys house, I think he's a doctor now.

By the way Ross Chewy was a member of the K-Team bitd.

This was from the demo at carlisle market hall. also in attendance was Wayne LLewellyn, Andy and Neil Ruffell, Pepi.

reality is we were just copycat sado's
