Hi everyone,
I haven't ridden a bmx in years, in fact I'm trying to restore my old DB Viper.
But I'm also looking to get a new bike, which is where I need your advice....
Ive seen a bike called the Krave Blizzard, it looks nice, basic, but nice. I was just wondering what your thoughts were? The problem is, I only have a budget of about £100 to spend on myself (typical).

Anything with a daft name like that wiill be a POS-avoid at all costs.Get a BMX from a BMX manufacturer & you`ll be OK.As your budget is low,try secondhand.There`s a decent DK for £80 in the for sale section that would be a fine starter bike.

Welcome to the site dude and back to BMX! Good move!
Keep away from tat like that Krave Blizzard, it's just cheap rubbish and you'll hate it the second you sit on it - much better to wait and save for a decent one if you want new. Or as Heywood said, at £100 look for something second hand, lots of stuff comes up here and ebay at that price.

not seen it, but at £130 it will be little more than a "toy" bike.
not good mate.
that DK in the for sale section is a great buy at £80.
though the orange might put you off.

The DB Viper is tiny dude - 19.5" top tube and made for small children...please please don't be tempted!
Seriously there are some great second hand bikes out there, you don't need to buy that crap pretending to be a BMX. It really is that bad...

remember Diamond Back aren't the company they once were, now the name is owned by Raleigh and they are turning out bikes for the likes of Halfords.

I'm clueless on BMX these days so its great to get some advice.
I think i'll try and get a cheap second hand bike for now, until I know what spec I want. The only brand I recognise these days is Mongoose, so its all a great learning curve.

Grab that DK to get you started mate - it's cheap enough you could always sell it on. Alternatively, I could cobble you together a decent mid 90s Haro for that sort of money.

yep my 80.00 dk is full chromo 3 piece cranks and pretty sweet ride 20.5 top tube so long enough for most .better than buying new cheap 100/150 pound junk kids bikes :daumenhoch:

you'll end up with a POS... then spend the next 6 months swapping & buying new parts!!
If your gonna buy a new bike... up your budgit to the £250 - £300 mark...

Check out some websites from BMX shops and you'll get a feel for whats what...

There are loads out there and will give you a feel for what is decent and what isn't.
Full Cro-mo frame and forks are ideal but you are looking at £300 brand new.
Second hand is always a good option and remember you can always get a decent frame with crap parts and upgrade as you get better / ride more..

Well, thanks to your advices, ive had a good day today!!
For my £100 I have bought an OS project, a Mk1 Super Burner, and Ive put a reserve on 2 other bikes at my local shop. All second hand, but one is a nice Mongoose Pro and the other is a GT Jamie Bestwick sig. There was also a Haro, but that was proper knackered.
So, which should I get, the GT or the goose?? (by the way, the Burner was £20 :) )

One of ex girlfriends has the GT Bestwick - it's not a bad thing for the money but you'll be updating components pretty quickly. How much money is it up for?

Both are up for £80.
They do need a good clean up but all the right bits are there. I'd give it a good rub down and put on some new grips.

Don't be surprised if it doesn't ride a little small - I recall the bars being a bit on the small side, and I'm not sure of the top tube length...
I'd say there's nowt to choose between that and motomags DK though, I don't know about the Mongoose.. For £80 to get you started, any of em will do. If you get hooked you'll soon be upgrading, don't worry about that!
