Hi all :)
I thought that I'd take a few minutes out of the day so visited a track.

I see Lee every now and then when he pops into the office on business.
Good man he is always got a smile on his face!
If you look at the pro line-up on the Bournemouth pics you'll see him.
Think he came first in his class there!

Yes it is Lee. I met him today by chance and we had a good chat about his racing, bikes - Hutch, Ku, Gt, Scorpion? etc whilst at the Royston track - http://www.roystonrockets.co.uk/
We talked about the old times and he said that he got back into BMX last year or so (to keep fit after palying football), went to Bournemouth and that he got the bike off Geth.
He is hoping to race some more and was made an honorary member of RR. He said that he knew some of the old faces (including you Bill) and hopes to get back on Rad soon. He also still sees some other old riders / freestylers that I knocked about with so I asked him to pass on details of Rad.
NB - he still has his old lid, Hutch Hollywood with Hutch Stem, Bars etc but dosen't know where the cranks are (shame).
He also has a few other bits laying around (most has now gone though).
Does anyone have pics of him racing bitd?
It really does seem like more and more people are getting back into BMX, whether it be New or Old School, which I must say really is a good thing and I'm glad to take part in.

Its only about five minutes up the road from my work, and I still haven't been over there.

It is a great track (a bit windy at times) and is open all the time. Just take a bike to work, go down Burns Road, at the roundabout turn left - park in the layby on the right just as you go into the new housing estate, then out with the bike and ride.
We'll all have to meet up some time and have a bit of practise.

I went to Royston for a roll around my first time back, hadn't ridden a BMX for 18 years and only ever been on a track twice in my life. Needless to say it scared me shitless and my attempts at clearing the first set of doubles were all failures ;D (it was still fun) :daumenhoch:

Thanks Greentoad for the mention - if any of you are ever in the Royston area dropp me an e-mail and I can meet up and we can go for a blast round the track just as long as you don't over do it!!

Lee, How's it going?
Are you going to do any races this winter.... or is it still to cold and wet for you? ;) Your looking good on Geths old bike in those pictures, how are you finding the 20"?

And yes Royston is very cold and windy sometimes, some of the coldest races I've ever done have been at that track. It was worse in the 80s when the houses wern't built.

Hi Miles, doing fine thanks - the 20inch is a lot harder work than the cruiser but sooooooooooo much more fun I just need to get out more to work off all that winter food - it is difficult being a greedy pig. :LolLolLolLol:
Not sure about winter racing/riding although the bike does have mud on it from the other day

Royston track ... blimey.... back in '84 - '85 or so, when me and my folks visited my uncle and Aunt. Me and a cousin would ride his Puch over there seemingly to prove we had no talent.
I remember trying to jump the first doubles and failing miserably ! ;D
